Valentine’s Day is right around the corner *que horror music* lol. Just kidding. Kind of. Anyway due to my current situation and my lack thereof plans with anybody besides myself; I will be spoiling myself. I’ll take myself to dinner, take myself to the movies, take myself to get a pedicure and buy myself a stuffed animal, flowers and some cheesecake. Please don’t judge me! Why should I stay at home and feel sorry for myself? Nope, I do a pretty good job of spoiling myself the remaining 364 days of the year, this day is going to be no exception. I can have whatever I like!!! Lol
Anyway. Valentine’s Day is like the most over commercialized romantic holiday ever and people all around the work spend big to make sure their person or persons of interest feel extra appreciated on that particular day. People book reservations to high end restaurants, spas, resorts and etc. attempting to put a price tag on love. But love cannot be bought, well in most cases it can’t.
I can’t speak for anybody other than myself, but I would be willing to bet that a lot of us Queens would love to just have our Kings to ourselves rather than a night out on the town. I for one think that the perfect date night would include opening the door to roses and slow jams, a glass of wine, candles everywhere and a bubble bath ready for me and him to enjoy, Just the two of us and then dinner ready after I get out of the tub (it doesn’t have to be home made, order take out) and then just wing it from there lol. Just outside of the box romance. Now don’t get me wrong, I love gifts and money but unpriced and non-commercial romance is everything. Anybody can buy flowers, candy and make a reservation but learning to play the guitar so that you can serenade me as I take a bath that speaks volumes! (If y’all don’t know by now, my imagination level is legitimately high.)
This year whether you are alone, in a complicated situation or in a whirlwind love, do something different. Think outside the box. Make it a great day for yourself or for yourself and your boo! And if you are alone, remember that the foundation for loving somebody else, is loving yourself. If you are not happy with you, you can’t be happy with him. So enjoy yourself because you may have some company next year!
